“Declan….I didn’t mean to…”
He shook his head,turned around and left the ward.
I was filled with guilt.
I didn’t take him for a fool.
As I tried to get off the bed and stop him,I paused when I saw blood on the floor.
He had walked on the broken pieces but he had his shoes on.
Could it be that they had somehow pierced into his shoes?
I quickly got off the bed,slid into my flip flops and hurry out of the ward.
I ran passed the lobby and to the main entrance of the hospital but I didn’t see Declan.
My lips quivered and I tried not to cry as I headed back to my ward.
I informed a nurse that I had broken something and she instructed a cleaner to follow me back to my ward and clean it up.
I sat on the bed.
A doctor and a nurse soon came in and examined my body.
