A week later, Aria and Dante prepared for the journey to the Sacred Grove. Selene had arranged for Luna to receive a formal blessing from the High Priestess, a ceremony that would help protect the pup and guide her unique development.
"Are you sure we should bring her so far?" Dante asked for the third time as they packed. "She's still so young."
"The High Priestess specifically requested her presence," Aria reminded him. "And Selene says the blessing needs to happen before Luna's first shift anniversary, which apparently counts from when she was born since she shifted so early."
The journey would take three days through heavily forested territory. Lyra insisted on coming with a full security detail of twenty warriors. After Vane's attack, no one was taking chances with Luna's safety.
