Luna was eighteen and a half when the Moon Goddess summoned her for the second time. Unlike the first invitation, which had been cordial, this felt urgent. The celestial messenger who appeared in Nightshade's central square was frantic, its light flickering unstably. "The Goddess requires your immediate presence. The divine realm faces crisis. You must come now." Luna had never seen a celestial being show distress. It was deeply unsettling. "What kind of crisis?" she asked. "The barrier between divine and mortal realms is failing. The Goddess believes it relates to your bridge modifications. She needs your help to diagnose and repair." Luna's stomach dropped. Had her innovations somehow damaged the divine connections? She'd been so focused on distributing burden and preventing burnout
