I had no idea that Arthur held me in his hands when I was a baby and saved my life. It was unbelievable and unexpected. However, I could tell that Arthur was telling us the truth, so there was no reason for him to lie to me or to Mr. Jules. They must have already discussed that as well. Even if he was trying to get on my good side because he had kept this from me before, this story was too much for a lie, and I felt in my heart that it was the truth.
I wish he would have let my birth mother know that he saved me and that she would not die in such anguish. I wish I could have met her. I wish I could have talked to her and found out what kind of person she really was. I wish I could have gotten to know her. I felt tears rolling down my face.
