30. The Attack

Sabrina's Pov "Well, that was fun. But do not worry, as we are just going to be outside the door," said the guard, and walked out of the basement. The others followed him. My cell was between Arthur's and Jakob's and connected directly to theirs. Arthur was still lying on the floor. The collar's torture must have taken a toll on him. Jakob was covered in bruises and could not stand up. I wanted to reach out and comfort both of them, yet I knew if I touched either of them, it would bring the ache to another. I was also the reason they were here in these cells. My mind was racing. How do we get out of this now? Were all my sacrifices in vain? I hoped that when Mr. Jules returned, I could reason with him and tell him that these men had nothing to do with me. He never wanted to listen to me, though. Maybe he will listen to Arthur. I was waiting to see Mr. Jules for the first time in my life. I wanted Jakob and Arthur to be free from this place. The door had opened, and someone else had entered. It was the person I wanted to see the least. It was Seth. I hated him, and Lea got enraged instantly. "I can't wait to sink my teeth in his throat," she told me. "You better not stop me this time." "Look who we have here!" Seth grinned. "And with both men, I used to smell all over you, Sabrina. Yet none of them had had you. I can tell. I can always tell. Those are the best treats that have not been shared. I am excited to be your first and will not waste a moment tasting your blood this time. It's time to taste something else far greater." "Don't you touch her," Jakob snarled at Seth. "How dare you to even speak to me," Seth spit into Jacobs' directions. "Seth, please think, don't make this mistake." Arthur could still barely speak after the collar pain was inflicted on him. They were both trying to get up and get to the side of their cells closest to mine. They were both hurt and crawling slowly, pulling themselves up with their elbows and their hands. Arthur seemed to have more strength and moving faster. Seth didn't even acknowledge him. Instead, he was opening my cell's lock. Arthur finally was able to get up on his feet, as he was regaining his strength, and stood right at the junction of our cells. However, he was still behind the bards and could not reach Seth. "Leave her alone," Arthur yelled. "I will kill you," Jakob roared, getting closer to my side. I backed off to the farthest side of the cell to be as far as I could from the door. But I was calm. I knew this was not the time to be scared. I had to fight back. I closed my eyes, concentrated, and imagined touching Lea. I was with her, not in the cage but in the meadow. "Any second now," Lea told me. "Any second now," I recited with her. "Ready?" Lea asked. "Ready!" I replied. The door swung open, and at that exact moment, I let Lea have my body. This time, there was no pain but merely the pleasure of freedom, power, and strength running through me. We instantly took a giant leap and landed on Seth, making him fall backwards and pinning him to the ground with the wolf's body standing on his chest with the front paws. He let out a prolonged scream, but I didn't care anymore. And Lea certainly was ready to kill him. I could sacrifice a lot for people who were close to me, but not like this, not to him. Lea had her teeth in his throat. The blood started to splash. I could taste it. I wanted him gone, never hear his voice, and never have him threaten me again. I heard the door and a few footsteps approaching. "We need to finish him now," Lea yelled in my head. But instead, I felt immense pain everywhere and fell right on Seth. ... The pain would not stop. I could not get up. I could barely see the feet of people running in. I tried to look up. There were three guards, and Mr. Jules was rushing in. "My Son is dying! What were you doing?" Mr. Jules was yelling. Was it about me, or maybe he was pissed at the guards? My mind was barely there. "Let Arthur out now! Arthur treats Seth immediately." I heard the door of the cell open. I felt hands pulling me off Seth, dragging me off him. I was still in the wolf's form. I think it was heavier than my tiny human body. "You will pay for this with your life!" I heard Mr. Jules shouting. "You can't do this" I heard Arthur's voice close to me. "I will not save him until you stop torturing her." "You will do what you have to as a doctor. You don't concern yourself with anything else," Mr. Jules yelled. "You have to promise that Sabrina lives." Dr. Arthur replied. "I will. You save Seth!!!" Mr. Jules roared. "She could die from this pain. You have to stop it now if you want me to proceed," Arthur said rigidly. I still could not move because of the pain. "She deserves it," Mr. Jules snarled. "Albert, do you really not know who she is?" asked Arthur. "This is not your problem," Mr. Jules replied, "Help Seth, help my oldest son! My heir!" "She is your daughter!" This time Arthur shouted. "It cannot be true!" Mr. Jules screamed. "It's the truth. You must already know it. How could you not?" Arthur said firmly, and the pain stopped. I searched for Arthur with my eyes and finally saw part of him bending over, applying pressure to Seth's neck. Is he talking about me? How could this be? Then I heard screams, thuds, and more screams, and I blacked out.
