Alpha Walker was right - the Pack did see it. They could sense the connection between us, and they knew that we were meant to be together.
I was terrified when we walked into the large dining room, but when I sat down next to him at the head of the table, I realized that they were curious rather than angry or suspicious.
"Do you feel up to explaining?" Alpha Walker leaned close to me and asked in a whisper as he rested his hand on my knee.
"Yes," I answered, without hesitation, even though I didn't know how I could possibly explain anything. I took a deep breath and looked around at the people in the room . "But... I'm not sure where to start," I admitted.
My eyes flittered around the room, settling on several of the Pack members I had seen before, even though they had never seen me.
