Chapter Thirty-Nine

The man had nine lives. Every time that I was sure I was ready to take Erik out, he knew just how to pull me back in. He knew how to sliver his way out of death all because I was a sucker for saving the lives of innocents. Erik had told me that the slave he almost killed in front of me before I saved her was not the only one. Apparently, he had many of them and killed them when they no longer served any use. Instead of being out there with my mate, taking down the rest of Erik’s army, I was walking with the enemy to an unknown location to save the lives of women whom I didn’t even know were real.
