"What exactly are you talking about, Jana?" Alpha Romano asked, surprised.
He has a narrowed gaze as he looks at me, as if I'm saying that I'm not in the right frame of mind.
"Alpha, I'm telling you the truth. She isn't your mother," I responded firmly.
He shook his head and looked at the frail woman who pretended to sleep as soon as my mate walked into the room. This witch can put on a good show, but she can't fool me because I already know her secret.
"Let's go outside, alpha; I've got something to show you."
He doesn't seem to believe me because he can't hide the confusion in his face. He was about to accompany me when we were abruptly stopped by the voice of the woman, who pretended to have just awoken.
"Where am I?" I heard a woman ask.
