As Damon packed his trunk, I couldn't help but ask him, "How long do you think it will take you to get to Isle from Lumar?"
"About three days," he replied, a hint of worry in his voice. "But Vanora knows the shortest route, so it's possible we could get there sooner."
I nodded, trying to keep my emotions in check. "I just want you to be safe and return home as soon as possible. The people of our town need you, and I need you too." I could feel my lips pursing as I fought back tears. It was hard to let him go, but I knew he had to.
