We were cleaning up after the battle well into the night, and there were people walking around offering food to everyone. However, I refused their offerings. I insisted on making my own food from then on. I wouldn’t eat anything that was prepared for me because I didn't trust any food that I hadn’t made myself.
As everyone began retreating to their homes, it hardly looked like a battle had occurred in the pack at all. I stood in the middle of the field, staring at the packhouse in the near distance.
