We retraced our steps all the way back to the city, where we decided to hire a car. It was then that we received a message indicating which hotel our friends had checked into. They mentioned that the keys to our room were still at the front desk. We got in the car and drove to the hotel. I was expecting to see our friends in the lobby of the expensive hotel they had managed to book for us, but they were nowhere to be found. At the front desk, the woman handed us one key for a single room. I tried to explain to her that we were supposed to receive two keys for two different rooms. She was insistent that our friends booked one room for us two. “I’m going to f*****g kill them.” I muttered, grabbing the key off of Landon and I walked over to the elevator. Landon stood next to me, trying
