As soon as everyone settled into their rooms that night, I left the pack house and headed down to the beach. I had burning questions on my mind, and I didn't even know where to begin.
Landon met me at the beach and told me that my father was looking for me. But I decided he could wait until tomorrow. There was something else I wanted to explore right now, and I wanted Landon to come with me.
I took his hand, and we walked around the bend in the beach, disappearing into the fae portal.
Even though it was still nighttime, the sky and the ocean were much brighter than they were outside the portal. It wasn't daytime, but it felt lighter, and we could see all the animals swimming just beneath the surface of the water.
