Cooper was gone for a few hours before he returned and began wandering around the cabin, doing a few things, before finally coming back to my bedroom and standing at the doorway. I was lying on the bed reading a book, so I put it down and sat up. “You look better,” he said. “Yeah, I guess it was just a 24-hour thing. I feel a lot better now. I made some cereal earlier, and I didn’t throw it up. So that’s a good sign,” I replied. But as soon as I said that, his expression changed. “Yeah, that’s definitely a good sign,” he eventually said. He was acting a little strangely again, so I wasn’t sure what was going on with him. He then went to make lunch for us, and I sat in the kitchen with him while we ate together. He was a bit quiet, and I felt hesitant about what to say to him. I
