"You and Brian seemed to hit it off," Emily commented as they got inside the taxi at the end of the night. "And you and Max didn't?" Jodie countered. "I mean, he was nice and all," Emily said, "but there just wasn't that same spark. You know how it is." Jodie nodded. "Yeah, I get it. But I wouldn't say that Brian and I hit it off, necessarily. He seemed nice enough, but I don't think we had much in common." Emily raised an eyebrow. "Really? I thought you two were chatting away all night." Jodie shrugged. "I mean, we talked a bit, but I don't think it was anything special. I did say I'd go out with him. I thought I'd give him one more shot." She laughed. "But who knows, maybe you will have a great time on your date." Emily smiled. Maybe. Jodie didn't feel all that excited about it.
