Valentina’s pov
I had managed to make it to Friday night without having to see Derek again, and I was looking forward to my friends coming over for a catch-up tonight. I may have not heard from Derek, but his mum Ashley had called me.
I had always gotten along well with Ashley. She actually knew who my parents were and kept it a secret for me. She had faith that her son would prove himself worthy, but she had seen the bad side of relationships with her parents and understood why I was doing it.
She also knew I had planned on telling him at Christmas, we had both been sure if he was one thing it was faithful, he knows how his mum feels and what she had been through as a child, we were both really wrong about that.
