Chapter 42 Santiago’s pov I have loved every minute that I have spent in Valentina’s home, even the ones that I wasn’t exactly her favourite person. I am dreading the thought of having to go home. When I think of the place that I once loved, it feels cold and empty. I hate the thought of getting up in the morning and not seeing Valentina and my son, it had only been a short time, but I don’t think I could get used to being in a quiet empty home again. There is always some noise here. It could be Nicolás’ funny little noises, or Benjy’s feet scampering towards one of us. Or my favourite of all Valentina’s humming to a tune, not even realising she is doing it, or talking to herself, which is adorable, as she also seems to not realise she is speaking aloud.
