"And if I say yes?" She asked and I glared at her.
Gage chuckled at that.
"What's funny?!" She grumbled in annoyance.
"Your tone. Hey, I miss you" He changed the subject.
"I miss you too." Paula’s frown changed to a big, sheepish smile.
"When are you returning home?" I heard Gage ask.
"I won’t tell you. But you already know I’m here with my friend to comfort her and until she gets better, I’ll be with her."
"What happened to her?"
Gage asked and I glared at Paula again.
"She just broke things off with her husband because he cheated and had a baby outside the marriage" Paula skillfully explained and I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding.
"Oh that's quite bad. And so you're saying you’ll leave me for long?"
