I tucked Zephyr into my side awkwardly as her sobs ebbed. The air seemed to shift in a way that didn’t call to my power but didn’t threaten it either. It reminded me of the wolves, but stronger. Lucas, Jackson, and Cameron were having a silent conversation, their eyes cloudy.
“We move,” Soleil called. Her voice rang out clear and loud, but she wasn’t speaking to us anymore.
The nymphs ebbed together.
It was the single most breathtaking and terrifying thing I had witnessed.
“Raze the lands with fire, take what they have built with wind, open up the earth, and swallow everything whole. Level mountains, bring roaring rivers to flood,” Soleil commanded; the talisman lifted off her chest, and her hair rose shrouded in fire and sun and water.
