The moment I burst back through the front door, the silence of the house hit me like a sea wave, and my brows immediately furrowed because everything smelled wrong. The air was thick with a nasty, agonizing fragrance that made my beast violently claw at my chest.
I wrinkled my nose as I strained my ears, listening for the steady, comforting rhythm of Aurora’s heartbeat, but there was nothing.
Panic flared through my veins. Where the hell was she?
She wouldn't have left.
