(Sean's POV) I bought the ticket two months ago, back when this trip still belonged entirely to Rebecca. I didn't tell her. That part matters, I think, because the whole point of buying it that far ahead was the surprise — showing up at the airport myself, quietly, not to take over anything, just to be there, an extra set of hands on a trip I knew she'd be doing solo with Jack. I'd pictured it a hundred different ways on the drive home from booking it. Helping carry bags. Sitting in the back of whatever safari vehicle they hired, staying out of the way, letting Jack have his mother's full attention while I handled the boring logistics neither of them would want to think about — the transfers, the tipping, the small thousand invisible tasks that make a trip run smooth instead of chaotic.
