(Sean's POV) I look at her for a moment. Then say, "okay." I stand. My arm pulls at the movement and I ignore it. Hannah stands too, uncertain, the flowers still in her lap until she remembers them and gathers them up. "You should rest," she says. "I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to see you." "I appreciate you coming by." I walk her to the door. She hesitates at the threshold, looking for something in my face. I give her nothing. Just the same even expression I've been wearing since she walked in. "Call me if you need anything," she says. "I will." She presses the flowers into my good hand at the door — a small warm press of fingers against mine that used to mean something and now comes off hollow. I take them. I thank her. I close the door.
