“What happened?” I asked, walking closer to Mateo, who stood in front of me.
“They were both found dead early this morning,” Mateo announced, and I glanced at the people lying in each other’s arms on the floor.
“What happened to them?” I bent lower and placed my hands under their nose just to confirm if they were still breathing because I couldn’t hear their heartbeats.
