Nina swallowed hard as she stood before the office that should belong to her alpha and tried to fight the anger that was bubbling up within her. She told herself that if she had been more cautious earlier this morning, she could have avoided this afternoon’s visit. She took a deep breath and raised her hands to knock but instead heard Connor’s deep voice asking her to come in. She gently opened the door and stepped into the office and was surprised to see Connor sitting on one of the guest seats instead of the alpha’s seat.
