The girls sat me down and started working on my makeup: foundation, eye liner, then eye shadow, lipstick and lip gloss. I wasn’t allowed to see any of this in a mirror – they wanted it to be a big surprise.
Since they couldn’t both work on my face at the same time, Laura went for my nails. I have to say I think I have quite nice nails for a man. I don’t bite them, so every now and then, or if they break, I just file them down. Laura spent several minutes shaping them.
“Listen and learn,” she said. “I’m shaping these nails, and I want you to study that shape. Next time you file them, try to do it the same way. They won’t look obviously feminine without the nail polish, so there’s no reason you can’t maintain them this way. And look – always slide the nail file in one direction – like this
