MATED TO THE PRINCE

Chapter 6

CLARA

All this attention is directed towards us?

Oh no! I've never seen so many reporters and people of the press directing attention to a couple before. My mate is actually royalty! 

We've already arrived at his kingdom and his bodyguard who happens to be his driver drives us towards the palace. Upon getting into the compound, I'm surprised to see his father, mother and a beautiful damsel well dressed in a royal gown who I conclude is princess Adiah, Raymond's sister! 

A red carpet with flowers spread on top has been spread on the walkway connecting the carpark and his family is standing at the farthest end waiting for us.

I can see some maidens and guards standing at strategic positions allover the compound and the whole place reeks of royalty and pure affluence.

“Let's go princess!” Ray says, jolting me back to reality. I'm just realising that I've been carried away by the beautiful scenery which happens to be the Palace of Alpha James and Luna Deborah of Plains View Pack!

As we approach them hand in hand, my face is bend downwards and I just don't know how to face them. My wolf is urging me to keep a straight face but I just can't. I'm a nervous wreck right now and all I pray for is everything to go as planned! I can't handle being rejected!

“Welcome...” the three members of the Royal family say in unison as we approach and since Ray has already advised me to act just as he does, I nod and bow in front of his father the King who after placing his hand on his son places it on mine, murmuring some blessings.

His mother does the same to and when he hugs his sister, I stand there waiting for my turn. Adiah is quick to let go of her brother and she takes me into her arms, hugging the daylights out of me. Wow! That act alone takes me by surprise.

At the corner of my eyes, I see Ray walking back to his father and they walk together towards the house. His mother the Luna walks over to us and after Adiah withdraws from my arms, Luna Deborah hugs me passionately, welcoming me to her palace.

I walk between Mother and daughter as they lead me towards the main house and after entering, they usher me to the couch where Alpha James and Prince Ray are seated.

Ray taps at the space on the couch next to him and I make myself at home beside him.

Father and son are engrossed into chats about the kingdom since Ray left while Luna and princess engage me in small talks here and there. By the look of things, I don't need to worry about being rejected since everyone appears warm and accommodative towards me!

The Royal table has been set and we're all ushered to the table by a well dressed maiden.

She stands aside as we serve ourselves and we eat to our fill.

My wolf is satisfied and she purrs excitedly, trying to engage me in a conversation but I try to ignore her. I'm in the midst of my future family and I don't want to appear distracted!

After lunch, I'm taken round the palace by Princess Adiah and Luna Deborah while Victor who happens to be Ray's Beta joins Ray and the Alpha in the living room.

Everywhere looks great. The furniture, the deco, interior design, everything and I've already fallen in love with this place!

I'm even taken to my room, which looks like another big house within the palace. It's located upstairs on the second floor and I chuckle when I'm informed that I'll be spending in the same room with Ray.

However, we have two beds in the room and I'm told that it's okay if I choose to sleep away from him till my 18th birthday.

Well, I'll know what to do since my hormones are already raging and I might make him mark me sooner than expected.

Ray's scent is allover the house and I sniff at sit, taking in the scent and inhaling it. Well, he smells heavenly, more of strawberries...his scent alone is enough to make me want him to mark me!

“My princess,” Alpha James calls me as we gather in the living room after the great tour around the Palace.

“My king.” I respond, facing downwards to avoid eye contact. It's not advisable to face your king, leave alone the Alpha eye to eye.

“Tell us about yourself, your parents, your siblings, your school... everything.”

My heart beats in anticipation. Oh my God! Where do I start? At this moment, I try engaging my wolf in a conversation but she cringes, refusing to come to my aid.

“I tried to engage you earlier but you shut me out!”she mocks me.

“But we're one. Please help me out!” I plead with her.

“Only under one condition!”

“Which is?”

“You'll never ignore me again no matter how occupied you are!”

“I promise!” I say without thinking twice. All I need is for her to help me speak out before the Royal family becomes impatient!

“My name is Clara Robinson and I'm from Hills Valley pack.” I start expressing myself with the help of my wolf whom I fondly refer to as Berry. “My mother's name is Janet but I don't know my father. I've never met him at all and my mother never showed him to me!”

I continue with the narration, momentarily pausing to bite at my apple. I tell them about my school, my best friend, my mother Janet and her immense hatred towards me, how she used to beat me at the slightest provocation or none at all, how Ella my best friend happened to be my only source of solace and how she had promised to take her to her house to live with them after Janet kicked me out, how Ray and I met at the restaurant and how our hearts connected, making us discover that we were mates. I don't leave any detail... I tell them everything I know about myself!

After a moment of silence, the Alpha looks at me and asks me if I have any form of identification on me.

I nod.

“I actually have my school identity card and my birth certificate.” I reply.

Though I haven't seen the birth certificate of late since I hid somewhere in one of my old jeans a long time ago. I just hope I'll be able to find it.

I couldn't stand the names written on it, some names which I eventually forgot the same way I forgot their bearers. If my father had the guts to abandon me, why would I be clinging on our memories?

“Well, that name Robin sounds familiar but I'll make conclusion when I get the full names.”

“It's okay my King. Let me go and bring it to you.” I say, hoping I'll find it in that jeans because I'm sure I packed it in my bag.

Luck is on my side since it's the first thing I lay my hands on immediately I dip my hand in the pocket. It's crumble, almost torn but still, it'll be useful since my destiny lies in that most avoided piece of paper.

I present it over to the Alpha without opening it and after he opens it, his eyes run through to the details as we all watch in anticipation.

Alpha James is a powerful man endowed great and strange power and I'm sure it won't take time for him to find my father.

However, I don't want him to be found...whether a rogue or an Omega...I'm okay with who I am right now. 

Well, who am I kidding?

I watch in anxiety as his eyes open wide in surprise and recognition as he reads out aloud my father's name 'Robinson Martins'.

“Robinson Martins?” he repeats as if to confirm his doubts. Oh no! I've been avoiding go read the full names just because they are similar to the names of someone high and mighty but now, someone is saying the names out loud.

“Alpha Robinson Martins of Twilight pack is your father?”

Everyone's eyes are on me. The prince holds my hand and murmurs something inaudibly.

Murmurs and whispers in the room are making me to almost go crazy. I can't be an Alpha's daughter! I'm just another omega or rogue, lucky enough to be mated to a prince!

“I must make a call to your father. He must know about you!”

“No, please don't!” I plead with him. “He's not my father. He can't be my father! My mother always told me I'm worthless since my father rejected me so this can't be true!”

I say hysterically.

Ray holds me into his arms and smooths my hair, assuring me that everything will be okay as his father the Alpha makes the call, despite my outbursts.

What if it turns out that he's not my father? What will happen next?
