Working in New York is a daily challenge. Not only with the traffic, but also with the fast pace and high cost of living.
In NYC, I've worked as a cocktail waitress, dog sitter, babysitter, restaurant server, in addition to working as a freelance bar singer. Side jobs are expected here. To me, this does say something bigger about low wages and the cost of living in the city, but it's nice to not feel ashamed of working whatever jobs I need to live the life I want here.
