Weeks later:
“I’m here. What do you want?” Alpha Pond is outside my room, speaking to my nurse. She’s been with me since I woke up. The white door is open just enough for me to see them talking.
I look around the room, hoping for an escape, but there aren’t even windows here. The only things in my room are my bed, the machines monitoring me, and a small side table with drawings from Daniel. Even the white walls feel sterile.
“You told me to call you if the girl woke up,” the nurse answers Alpha Pond before shuffling away.
Seconds later, my door opens. I tremble at the sight of the furious Alpha. He closes the door behind him so no one can hear us. I contemplate calling for help, but it will not go well. Screaming didn’t help that night; it only made it worse.
