Angel’s POV, 3 days after Cherry was attacked:
“So, what have you learned so far?” Daniel asks me after making sure Fiona is sleeping. I nod to the kitchen, pick up the laptop and go to Cherry with Daniel trailing behind me. Cherry should be part of this conversation too and she is cleaning up. She’s doing better, but still somewhat jumpy.
The other night when Cherry came home from the attack, we had a long discussion about what to do. The first thing we decided was avoiding the police for now. Cherry agrees to keep them as a last resort. She understands why I fear them almost as much as the cult.
We will not write police off completely though. If we are lucky, there will be an investigation into why we left and we can avoid the pack. Perhaps even moved to a better pack. If not, there s
