3: Bills To Pay

1480 Words
Angel’s POV: My head is cloudy, and I am immersed in water. I take my time to open my eyes and look straight at my savior, who is scrubbing my skin. My very naked skin! I’m out of touch with my body, so I only observe him, unable to react. No quiet awake. He has tucked his long blond hair behind his ear, but not enough to let me see his face clearly. As he washes me, his arms bulge, and I think about how those arms can hold me and keep me safe from anything. I see him scrubbing my feet and slowly working himself up my legs. He’s getting too close to the spot between them, but he hesitates. He stops what he is doing to glances up at my face, and that’s when I recognize who my savior is. It’s none other than King Samuel himself! Oh, my goddess! One of the two kings of Duri is washing me. The shock restarts my system, and I try to hide my nakedness with my hands as I blush. “Relax, I’m trying to get the wolfsbane off you.” His baritone voice is softened with concern. I try to relax, as commanded, but the closer he comes to where my legs meet, the more my body reacts to the intimacy. There is something about his touch. Maybe it’s because he is one of the two most powerful lycan werewolves? It is kind of exciting. I try to look away, but I’m not able to. King Samule’s large hands are like magic, making me feel electrified, and a moan escapes me. One of his eyebrows rises, and I almost raise my hands to cover my mouth, letting him see one of my breasts become exposed again. He smiles but continues scrubbing above my legs, not getting near where I ache for him to touch me. The sensation is almost unbearable. He gets to my breasts, and I swear he pinches my nipples as if by accident. I bite my lip, trying not to moan again. “Sorry, I must duck your head under to get this stuff out of your hair. Are you up for that?” He repeats the question twice before I register he is talking to me. Our eyes meet, and then I take a deep breath, letting him duck me under. He rinses my face and hair with great care. Being ducked under by someone else is usually scary, but I feel safe with him somehow. “He saved me, after all.” Fuck! I almost died! I barely survived taking in a new client. I hate the stage when I have new clients. Still, in my wildest dreams, I never thought someone would pose as my customer just to rip out my canines! And to top it off, I have to do this again: find a new potential client. King Samuel senses when it hits me: the awfulness of everything that happened today and my fear for the future. Because he lifts my head out of the water as I’m about to hulk in my misery. He senses it quick enough for me to gulp in the air before I cry out. “It’s okay. It will be okay. He cannot hurt you again,” King Samuel whispers and holds me close, letting me cry into his chest. It calms my breathing some, but it doesn’t fix my problems. “But I needed the money!” I cry to him, not knowing what else to say. Today’s session was supposed to go towards bills that must be paid within the week. I’m already late with the rent and owe school fees for my brother Daniel’s education. My roommate Cherry might forgive the late rent, but the school is less forgiving. King Samuel releases me and looks into my eyes. “You could have died today, and you worry about some money?” He seems bewildered. Typical rich people. They’ve never had to worry about where their next meal is from. “I don’t have the luxury not to think about money.” I forget all modesty and lift my hands to my face, trying to dry my tears. “How much?” he asks. “No, no, I can’t take money from you. You saved my life.” “He is a criminal, and there is a bounty for delivering a criminal to the authority.” “No, that’s yours. You killed him; I just walked into a trap.” King Samuel huffs at my answer, and his aura grows angry. The sensation is overwhelming, and fear creeps back. It’s not as bad when I was attacked, but it doesn’t keep me from shaking. I try to make myself small in the tub, but this angers him more. I curl up and keep my eyes low. He lifts my face to him. “I am the authority, so I insist you take the money,” he commands, letting his baritone carry. I nod slowly, feeling bad for taking money from the one who saved me. But if the Lycan King insists on using his alpha aura, I won’t protest. I can’t afford to be choosy about where I get my money. Not to mention, he’s a king and a billionaire; he has enough. “Thank you, King Samuel.” When I accept the money, he calms down some. His aura becomes less threatening, and his eyes soften. It’s almost like before; however, he doesn’t get back to washing me. All he does is stare into my eyes, letting me get lost in his blue gaze. Suddenly, he bends down towards me, our eyes still locked. My heart beat wildly, and warmth rushes between my legs. Time slows down. “What is he up to?” One of his hands gets closer, and I half expect him to lift me up for a kiss, but he strokes my hair, smelling it. “We have to move this to the shower.” He pushes himself up. “What?” With him standing, I notice he only wears a towel around his naked torso. The brighter light lets me see more of him than what I saw in the candlelight. The sight of his chiseled chest almost makes me drool. A part of me hopes his towel falls down, so I can see if perfection continues underneath it. My cheek flushes red from the thought alone. I knew Lycans were unnaturally charismatic, but this level of attraction was more than I expected. It is as strong as I had expected a mate bond would be. But no way I would have a lycan mate! Not to mention a king! My gaze moves away from King Samuel as I gather my wandering mind. I wake up when I realize King Samuel is repeating himself. “The wolfsbane clings to your body. I need running water to get it off.” I shake my head and blush harder. “Does the king want me to shower with him?” I’m so not gonna survive that! My body pulsates only by the sight of him, telling me what it wants, and that is him! He will smell my arousal as soon as I get up from this water! This lycan charisma is really doing a number on me! “I, I, I already feel stronger. I can do it myself,” I stammer. I’m drained by my ordeal, but if I get into the shower with him, I might do something I’ll regret later. King Samuel has already dropped his towel, and I try not to let my eyes wander too much. But it’s huge and hard to miss. Not to mention, he is not unaffected by my nakedness. I didn’t think it was possible, but my pulse quickens even more. “If you can stand up alone, I will leave you.” He crosses his arms in a kingly manner, showing he wants results. I hesitate, hoping he will leave first, without smelling my arousal. But I will not get my will. His aura radiates that no amount of words will stop him from standing there watching as I try to stand up. I grit my teeth and move. There’s no point in making this king tired of my inability to take an order. He has saved my life, after all. I get up slowly, leaning against the tub, and lift my foot over the side. It’s like it’s made of lead. I need to get the wolfsbane off me soon, or I’ll be affected for a long time. I get the foot over, but as I lift the other one, I slip and fall. King Samuel is there instantly, catching and lifting me up bridal style. “I, I can…” he shushes me from finishing my sentence.
