“Expelled?”
I couldn’t believe it. I shouldn’t have cared - in fact, I should have seen it as a relief that I might not have to see Blake anymore. But as rebellious as he seemed to be, I still kind of thought it was a bit of an act. I couldn’t imagine why he would end up hitting another student when we hadn’t had a chance to really get to know anyone yet.
“I’m afraid so.”
Brooke sounded genuinely sad. I guess that even if he was a jerk it was sad to see someone throw their life away like that.
Perhaps this is the reason he ended up at this school to begin with - if he had been expelled before it could easily have been for starting a fight.
