Chapter 42La Gomera
Jade couldn’t stop smiling as she surveyed her small group of friends gathered at the monastery nearly a month after the climactic events on Ascension Island. She looked fondly around the place she had called home for most of her life, grateful it had not been destroyed; but it had been a close run thing. She was desperately saddened by the loss of her friends, Oboto and Emerald, losses compounded by the death of Jack Tresanton and Zichu Ling. The loss of Jack was most keenly felt by the person next to her. She turned to Amethyst. “It is time, Elizabeth,” she said.
“It’s going to be very emotional,” replied Amethyst keeping in the shadows.”
“Welcome friends,” smiled Jade looking across at Monty, Jem, Guy, Rose and Tapiwa with Faustino the acting President in the back
