I felt my heart racing as Nathan leaned in to kiss me back. My mind was clouded with conflicting emotions - the desire for his touch and the guilt for thinking of Harold. I pulled away abruptly, leaving Nathan looking bewildered. "I'm sorry," I muttered, unable to meet his gaze. "I can't do this." Nathan's expression softened, and he reached out to touch my arm. "Alexia, what's wrong?" I shook my head, struggling to find the words. "It's not you, Nathan. It's just... complicated." He looked at me with concern, and I knew I had to explain.
