The venue problem turns out to be a double-booking, the athletic field also claimed by intramurals for the same afternoon, and it takes Priya, Ethan, and me the better part of the next morning to sort it out with the scheduling office before we finally land on a workable compromise. By noon it's handled, one more small crisis absorbed into the growing pile of things Ethan and I have somehow learned to fix together without it turning into a war.
I don't think much about it again until later that afternoon, sitting in the locker room after practice, half listening to Deshawn and a couple of the other guys talk over each other about weekend plans, when somebody brings up the suite situation the way it comes up sometimes, half joking, half genuinely curious.
