The loud sound of car doors slamming woke me up. Sitting up, I rubbed at my tired eyes. The last few nights had been quite a celebration and I had gone to bed too late. Glancing around my bedroom, I could clearly see that Laura was not around. I heard loud voices, but I couldn’t quite make out what was being said. I climbed out of bed and pulled on a pair of loose-fitting tan pants that hung over a chair. As soon as I opened the door, I could hear the voices a lot more clearly.
“f*****g bastard!” I heard Laura yell out angrily. “May you rot in hell!” she screamed. I rushed down the hall and down the stairs to see her standing by the front door.
