He pulled her to his chest, kissing her forehead as she smiled up at him. "I love you, Hexus. More than the stars in the sky." "I love you too, Elaine. More than the salt in the seas." Elaine chuckled, playfully glaring at him. "You couldn't find a better metaphor?" "No," he replied, grinning down at her. "Salt is good. Salt is the best." He buried his face in her hair, taking a deep breath. "Your hair smells like Divignus, you know? I love the scent so much." "And you stink of the forest. I hate it." "Why?" he asked, chuckling. "Let me guess. You don't like the canopies, you don't like the dark, right?" "Mhm." She nodded. "I am the Daughter of Light, after all." Hexus scoffed, blowing air through his nose. "Elaine?" "Hmm?" "What would you do if you weren't the Daughter of Light?
