Dad can only stay a couple of days, so we spend the whole next day together. We find boogie boards and life vests in the storage box under the house and ride the waves until we finally collapse on the beach. “Man, I’m going to have to find time to exercise more,” he tells me. “I’m so out of shape even a shark would spit me back out.” He pretends to take a bite out of his arm and spits it out. “Yuck. You, on the other hand…” he grabs my arm and pretends to bite it, “…yummy, muscles.” I laugh and try to pull away, but he keeps me tight, growling and pretending to bite me. I’m so happy he’s here.
