I have fun the first few days, swimming with Mom and playing my new games. Today, Mom is busy doing her stuff and not watching me close, so I explore the forest. I’m still wondering what I saw past the trees on the other side of the island. That is until the ferry blows its horn announcing it’s headed toward our dock, and I have to duck out of the trees before Mom sees me. “Stay out of that jungle,” she had ordered so I knew there would be trouble if she caught me in there. “I thought for sure we got everything,” Mom says as we start toward where the ferry is bumping up against the old tires hanging off the side of the dock. “I bet it’s the girls,” adds Mary Beth.
