Chapter 3

929 Words
Camila was still sobbing as she hadn't thought that one day she would wrong her father and be sent away from her pack. She had seen how her father had banished some of their pack members, and slowly, the pack was gradually diminishing, with some Eastern Wood members fleeing before the news of their sins reached her father. Camila was so absent-minded that she didn’t notice when Henry arrived home, as she was anxiously waiting to be taken to the refugee house. She knew no one in the Western Wood Packs, nor did she have any family in the pack. She feared that when the rest of the former Eastern Wood members that her father had banished saw her in the Western Wood Packs, they would seek revenge on her. "Get out of the car," Henry's deep, masculine voice jolted Camila back to reality. She immediately snapped out of her trance as she looked back at him. He stepped out and walked up to the passenger side to open the car door for her. Camila was afraid as her legs hesitantly stepped down from the blue car. She hadn’t even looked at the vehicle long enough to realize it was a blue Porsche; her mind was preoccupied with the fact that she had sinned and the reason for her banishment since her father was known for his lack of mercy. "Follow me," Henry said. Only then did Camila realize where she was. She marveled at the magnificent white mansion that stood in front of her. "Is this the Western Wood Pack's refugee house?" Camila asked in shock, unaware of how they had arrived at the mansion. Henry chuckled before coldly replying, "No." Camila gulped, thinking about how wealthy the Western Packs must be to have such a magnificent building designated for foreigners and werewolves without homes. As they approached the front of the mansion, she noticed Henry parked farther away from the facade and closer to the garage. Camila was taken aback by how grand the exterior looked—the white mansion was three times larger than her father's house. The guards at the front bowed to Henry as he approached. Henry reached the front door, unlocked it, and said to her, "Wait here." Camila watched him walk into the mansion as she stood at the entrance, staring around and wondering what would happen to her next. She couldn't trust anyone from the Western Wood Packs, not after all her training and the teachings instilled by her father. Soon, two young ladies appeared, and Camila was surprised; she had expected someone older, perhaps a peer of her father's, to step out and judge her for her sins. But the two maids simply instructed her, "Follow us." Camila gulped silently and followed the maids as they led her to the back of the mansion. The two maids stopped, and one of them picked up a hose from the floor and connected the white pipe to a tap. She said to Camila, "Strip off your clothes." "My what?" Camila looked embarrassed at the idea that the two maids in blue uniforms wanted her to undress. She wondered what they were up to. 'Did they want to prepare me for that man to sleep with me?' "No! I cannot strip off my clothes, please let me go! I mean no harm," Camila begged. The two young ladies exchanged glances, and Camila noticed the moon symbol on their heads, which indicated they were born and loyal servants to the Alpha. She recalled how devoted her own maids had been at home. One of the maids finally said to her, "You're a foreigner here, and we don't have time to interact with you right now. We don't know your purpose in our pack. But Alpha Henry sent us to bathe you and check if you’re carrying any dangerous weapons beneath your clothing. Please be fast, as Alpha Collins and Luna Ruth are waiting to meet you in the Grand Hall." Camila gulped. She knew she could not protest at that moment, so she stripped off her light nightgown. She was tired and needed a place to rest and lay her head so her wounds would heal. After Camila had stripped completely naked, one of the maids handed her soap and a sponge for bathing. Camila shivered due to the cold, having been soaked by the heavy rain that had just ceased. **** Meanwhile, Henry was inside the mansion, in the Grand Hall. His father faced him and said, "Henry! How could you breach our pack’s laws by bringing a foreigner here, straight to our mansion? Do you want to risk all of our lives?" "No, Father. Actually, I’m..." Henry began to speak, but his father cut him off. "You have no right, son, to bring a total stranger here, especially not from the Eastern Pack. She must be sent to the refugee house immediately, and once she’s done with whatever you sent the maids to do with her, we don't mingle or live with foreigners. If you fail to keep your guard up, they will trample over us and potentially help turn to rogues, taking over our pack!" "I'm sorry, Father," Henry apologized, sensing the anger in his father's voice. His father dismissed him, saying, "Leave my sight." "As you wish, Father," Henry said, immediately walking out of the mansion. His mother and sisters followed him, eager to see the foreigner he had brought home. Juliet and Madelyn, his twin sisters, were both angry and hurried out alongside their mother to see the newcomer.
