Chapter 16

Victoria sighed and replied, "I hope so."

She was irritated at seeing Camila, as she had heard of her the previous day.

Seeing how beautiful and naturally cute Camila looked without any makeup on her face made Victoria Elliott restless, as she felt that she was the most beautiful young lady in their pack and also fit to be Henry's bride.

Juliet said to her best friend, "Don't let that white bumpkin bother you. She is pregnant, I heard mom say that. So Henry cannot mate with her if that's what you're thinking."

Juliet sat calmly on the couch, and Victoria's eyes widened and nearly popped out from their sockets upon hearing that Camila was already pregnant, and maybe the reason why she was banished away from her father's packs.

As Victoria had also heard how the Eastern Wood packs members and their Alpha were very brutal with their sickening law that their pack members must always adhere to.

Victoria asked Juliet in surprise, "She's truly pregnant?!"

Juliet calmly nodded her head and replied, "Yes, Vicky, now sit."

"The reason why Henry cannot have anything to do with her. Besides, she's a foreigner too, and you don't expect my elder brother to mate with a foreigner that could be a threat to our pack and possibly be our enemy too."

Victoria admitted, "I am just somehow intimidated by how beautiful she looks."

Juliet assured her best friend, "You don't have to feel that way. You are going to be Henry's mate whether you win the upcoming contest for his heart or not, so don't worry yourself."

Victoria sighed, and they continued with their friendly discussion, sitting together on the long couch.

Camila finally went back downstairs and to the laundry room in the mansion to wash all the dirty clothes in the purple basket that she was carrying.

She hasn't eaten anything since morning, and she could feel her stomach growling out in hunger, coupled with the fact that she was pregnant.

As per the Western Wood packs rules, she mustn't eat anything except she was through with her works for the day that would also be inspected by their head maid of the Alpha's mansion.

Camila has to finish up with all her works first, before she could be given something to eat, and she proceeded to use the washing machine in the laundry room to wash Alpha Henry's clothes.

Camila went to wash Henry's clothes quickly that was in the purple basket, and after she was through spreading all the wet clothes to dry on the rope, she returned back to the maid's house.

There, the head maid named Lady Anna asked her, "What took you so long to finish up your morning duty? It's already 2 pm. Were you admiring the Alpha's mansion instead of concentrating on your work?"

Camila could see the older woman glare at her. She bent her head lower and replied, "No, ma'am."

Lady Anna yelled, "Shut up! And you will have to manage only this small bread, as we usually work here with time. The time that you use in working is how you will be fed per day! Don't think that if you sit down lazing around all day, then you will be given something bigger to eat. That is a lie, so you better work your ass faster next time, or else you get ready to starve!" Lady Anna scolded and threw the small bread at Camila's body.

Camila picked up the small piece of bread and went to eat it silently.

She went back into her room, as the maids' quarters have many rooms, and after she was through with the bread, she was tired and decided to sleep on the bed.

Camila remembered how she had stood so close to Henry in the bathroom and under the shower when he stepped into his bathroom and caught her there.

Her cheeks unknowingly flamed red at the remembrance, and she laid on the small bunk bed as she was exhausted with the little work she had done for the day.

She didn't use to work in her father's house, but now she had to work for her food per day, and she wondered how she would survive, also knowing that most of the young women in the Western Wood packs loathed her.

She shut her eyes closed and soon fell asleep on the bed.

Henry was still outside in the forest area, hunting as he caught a very big wild forest deer.

He had shot it with his bow and arrow, targeting the animal that had run out to escape from him.

He took the dead animal to his car trunk and took it back to the mansion, as he knew that a feast was coming up, and more likely, he just felt like hunting to relieve his stress.

Henry thought about Camila and his moment with her, standing under the bathtub with her, but he immediately shook his head to wave off all the crazy thoughts he was beginning to have about her.

He murmured, "If only she wasn't a foreigner. She's so beautiful, and I could have taken her right there. s**t!"

Henry knew the laws that were governing the Western Wood packs, and he couldn't bridge them.

As the Alpha's son, he was not supposed to mate with any foreigner so they could have a strong pup that could rule over their lands after him.

Henry was to only choose from a higher-ranking family members that would definitely contest for his heart in the upcoming dancing festival, and the full wolf moon festival that was usually held once a year in the packs.

The festival would be celebrated in his father's compound that was enormously wide to contain a multitude of werewolves that were in their human forms.

Henry got into his driver's seat and started his car engine as he drove back home.

Arriving at his father's mansion, it was already night. Henry drove into the compound and parked.

He instructed his guards to take down the big forest animal he had caught and take it to the maids in the kitchen to start preparing it.

The maids usually have a shift in their work, and only the maids that were of the Western Wood packs members and having the packs' tattoos on their arms and forehead were allowed to work in the kitchen.

All other maids that work in cleaning the mansion were different.

Henry went back into the mansion and saw his father speaking to the head of all the armies he had gathered.

Henry knew that his father still refused to listen to him and was serious about launching an attack on the Eastern Wood packs territory to seize their packs to become one, and to bow to them.

While every other smaller packs out there would be forced to submit to them freely when they saw that his father had already conquered the Eastern territory that were stronger too.

Henry wasn't happy about the development. And walking up to greet his father, as it was already 8 pm in the evening.

His father dismissed the guard he was speaking with and called him too, "Henry."

Henry greeted his father with a sigh, "Good evening, father."

Alpha Collins replied, "Welcome, Henry. The guards have already completed their training, and we intend to attack the Eastern Wood pack tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" Henry's eyes widened in shock.

His father replied, "Yes. We will be leaving for our targeted destination tomorrow to launch the attack, and I will be going there with them. So you should get ready to look after the pack houses in my absence."

Henry frowned, as he knew that the quest for more power could be dangerous. He was silent, and his father asked him, "Ain't saying anything?"

Henry replied, "What do you want me to say, father? Our packs is big enough for us to control and be looking after, as it's not easy caring for all our packs members, to now be concerned about the Eastern Wood packs too."

Henry stared away from his father to look at the mansion exit door.

His father replied, "I know, Henry. But when an opportunity like this strikes, I think it's best that we use it properly before we miss it. The Alpha has already banished his daughter away, and he has no son. He doesn't have anyone to rule his packs on his behalf, as the Alpha position couldn't easily be shifted to a low-born or another family that would probably be weak. So I think it's best that we strike now."

Henry sighed heavily, "Alright, father. I hope that the mission goes well. I have to retire back to my chamber to change my clothes and have a bath too, before I go out to inspect our packs."

"Alright," Alpha Collins finally dismissed Henry, and Henry went upstairs to his bedroom.
