Camila watched as Henry walked into the bedroom. He had a gloomy look on his face, like he was so annoyed about something.
She could feel his anger emanating from him, so she hurried to clean up his bedroom and get out of his room.
She was not brave enough to speak to him or to ask him why his people wanted to launch an attack on her people.
Camila could only pray in her heart for her father's and mother's safety.
And while she was leaving the second floor, Victoria Elliott had arrived that early in the morning, as she wanted to offer her support to the Alpha's family.
She stared at Camila irritably as she saw Camila walking away towards the stairs, and she angrily called Camila back, "Eh! You! Can't you greet?"
Camila was shocked to hear Victoria yell at her.
Her heart skipped a beat, and her head also snapped to stare at Victoria, who was wearing a long yellow gown.
She immediately greeted Victoria, "Good morning."
"Urgh! Must I always remind you to greet me? Mind you, I will become the next Luna of this pack. And whether you like it or not, you will submit to me and become my slave. Ugly pig."
Victoria walked away angrily towards Juliet's room door, and Camila could only shake her head sadly and walk away.
It wasn't like she didn't want to greet Victoria, but she was lost in her thoughts, thinking about her former pack, the Eastern Wood Packs, that she didn't even notice when Victoria had stepped out.
Camila sighed and continued to head downstairs. She saw that all the Alpha's family had deserted the living room, and she was sure that they all anticipated the war's result.
Camila then went back to the maids' quarters to have something to eat.
Unlike the previous day, Camila was given a big bowl of rice to eat.
She was happy and at the same time, relieved. Poison didn't have any effect on her, so she wasn't scared of being in another pack and among many other women that hated her because of her looks.
She quickly shoveled the meals into her mouth to feed her hungry stomach and the little baby growing in her womb.
She knew that with her job being as a slave in another pack, it wouldn't be easy for her to survive, as she attracted a lot of enemies, both those she was familiar with and those she never took any notice of.
Camila finished up her meals, and not having much work to do again.
She didn't want to step outside, to avoid any of the maids' wrath of accusing her wrongly.
Besides, she was of the lowest ranking status in their Western Packs, even though she was high-ranking in her father's pack.
She shut her eyes closed and dreamt of her pack. She saw the war, and she saw the battling of her people.
She tried to reach out to her mother, but she was unable to mind-link with her mother.
Her wolf strength was weakened, and the next moment, still in her dream, she saw the Western Wood Packs members all chanting around her like they wanted to kill her.
"No!" Camila screamed out so loudly, and she woke up from her nightmare.
She quickly wiped her forehead dry and stared around the small room that was given to her.
Her room door pushed open, and Lady Anna stepped into the room, dressed in a blue gown too.
The older woman asked her, "What has come over you? Have you suddenly gone mad?"
Camila quickly shook her head and apologized, "I am sorry, ma'am."
"Hmm, stand up and go tidy up the surroundings. You shouldn't be always inside in your room. Or are you scheming on something against us?"
Camila quickly stood up from the bed and replied, "No, ma'am."
"Then go outside," Lady Anna dismissed, and Camila went outside.
It was already evening, but Camila was shivering due to the cold wind that was blowing on her almost white skin.
Her blue gown was armless, so she shivered and walked away, walking up to the frontage of the mansion again, to know what she had to clean.
Victoria looked at Camila with disdain, and unknown to her, Alpha Henry stood at the balcony upstairs, gazing down at them.
Henry could also hear from afar, and he heard Victoria tell Juliet, "How can a sick she-wolf be working here in the mansion? Don't you people fear that she might collapse soon and die?"
Juliet laughed out mockingly as she was wearing an elegantly looking yellow gown.
She couldn't wait for the good news to receive the confirmation that her father and his armies had won the war against the Eastern Wood Packs.
As they were the two strongest packs in the whole of their werewolf kingdom, the fraction had made other smaller packs to be scheming about them, and Juliet believed that once her father took over the packs, all other small packs will submit to them freely.
"I already told you, Victoria, not to worry about this white bumpkin. I also wanted her as my maid, but seeing that she already looks lifeless and unhealthy, only our creator knows the kind of baby that she will bear."
"Maybe a goat," Victoria commented, and the two young ladies laughed at Camila.
Camila ignored the two young ladies and walked into the mansion to tidy up the living room.
She saw a lot of dirty used nylon on the floor, and she assumed they had a meeting in the grand hall again, maybe when she had slept off.
Later, she went back to the maids' quarters to stay, and truly, she was looking pale and very weak, because she didn't use to work as a maid before.
And also, she was given little food only once a day, because she is a slave, and she has to work to earn her daily living.
It was already late at night, and Camila was unable to sleep.
She was afraid for her dream not to turn to reality. She had seen a lot of her people being killed, blood everywhere, and she was afraid of the war's result.
She sat on her bed in darkness, as there was no lamp to enable her to see around the room.
Even as the main mansion had power supply and was bright, the maids' quarters was dark and scary.
Camila was still sitting on her bed when she felt the sound of a wolf behind her back.
She had almost screamed out in horror, not until Henry clutched her mouth shut, and she was visibly vibrating, wondering how he got into her room.
"What are you doing here?" Camila asked Henry, as she was visibly vibrating.
Henry was eating a roasted pork meat that he had in his pocket, and he sat on her bed and brought out the roasted meat to feed her.
"I heard that you're looking sick during the day from my sister's gossip, so I decided to come check on you here. I don't need to enter through the front door, as that would alert the maids."
Camila was scared to be left alone with Henry.
She remembered that he had seen her naked the previous day, and she immediately looked away from him.
"Here, have some to eat, as they are preparing it for the full wolf moon festival, and you need to be fit to clean the whole mansion."
Camila hadn't heard Henry speak much to her before, and she remembered the first day that she met him on the road at night.
Her hands shook as she finally collected the paper he had wrapped a lot of roasted meat for her.
The meat scented delicious, and Camila muttered to him, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, and note not to inform anyone about these. Except you are ready to be punished, as I won't hesitate to spear your punishment. You know the rules that govern this pack, and you should adhere to it and not think that I love you."
Even in the darkness of the room, Henry could see Camila's face flushed heat.
He could hear her heart beating, and he knew she was nervous and wondering what he was up to.
He shape-shifted into his wolf and left her room through the window, changing into a dark beast, and he climbed through the open window and jumped away.
