After several days, I tried going back to Cerro Roca but my father removed Jace and put Adelaide, his most trusted guard on me so I had no choice but to be in Monte Vega and in other cities except the one I would want to go.
Adelaide is known to have hunted five Alcantarans in the past so I can't risk going to Nathan with her eyes on me.
On the seventh day, my brother Langdon came and on the night, all the lights in our mansion lit up and a banquet was held.
Napuno ang buong bakuran ng mga bisita mula sa alta sosyedad, mga kaibigan, politiko, negosyante, at diplomats. I have some of my cousins in here but my uncles and aunts are nowhere to be seen. Even my grandparents did not attend.

Francine agreed at Shancey and smiled at me.
"But of course, Shan. Ikaw ba naman ang hainan ng libo-libong ektaryang lupain ng iyong mapapangasawa. I'm sure you'll also burn like an incense."
Kumuha si Shancey ng panibagong kopita. "Magliliwanag na naman ang buong Monte Vega kapag dumating na ang takdang araw ng kasal ninyo. You are one lucky woman for hitching Jude Hermosa, Cahil. You know aside from Asturian guys, all eyes of the maidens are on the Hermosas these days. Old rich. Smells of money."
I just laughed and toasted with them. Sa gilid ng mata ko ay hinahanap ko ang kapatid na hindi ko man lang nakausap magmula ng dumating ito sa bahay. Tama nga si Kuya Sergio. Sa Cerro Roca maglalagi si Langdon. That's why papa and mama were caught up in a small fight earlier.
"Shan, you forgot about the Alcantarans. They might not be on our circle now but their men, oh their men are also one of a kind. Have you seen Zen? The man is married but gosh, he's still the man of my dreams."
"Of course I've seen him but that one beast made more lasting impression on me." Humagikhik ito at hinawakan ang diamond earring sa kaliwang tenga.
"The beast?" I asked. "Who?"
"Nathan Alcantara. And don't ask. I'm keeping my lips sealed."
Hindi maampat ang ngiti sa labi nito kaya nakuha ko agad ang ibig nitong sabihin. I, too, wore the same on that night on the woods under the moon.
"Juicy, Fran. When did it happen?" I inquired while thinking when we did it.
It was almost three months ago.

Nakataas ang kilay na ipinagpatuloy ko lang ang pag-inom. At my peripheral view, I saw my father walked up to the center of the vast garden with my brother beside him. The attention switched to them as my mother held my hand tightly.
"Everyone, please," panimula ng ama ko. "As you all know, my unico hijo, Langdon, has come home, finally."
Nagpalakpakan ang lahat habang itinaas naman ng kapatid ko ang kopita.
"With his coming is another venture my family wanted to take. Another first for the Monte Vega, another breakthrough for all of us. In the years to come, a new Monte Vega will be built in this land. More progressive, more wealthy. A transformative estate for everybody and with that, I welcome another great addition to our growing alliance."
Nang hanapin ng ama ang mata ko ay doon ko pa nalaman ang kahulugan ng pagsakluban ng langit at lupa. I don't like using the expression but that's what exactly I felt when my mother handed me to Jude and motioned me to go to my father.
Mahigpit ang hawak ko sa braso ni Jude para pigilan ang sarili na kumaripas ng takbo. Why would he be making an announcement this early when he gave me two months?
"My only daughter, my unica hija, is betrothed to Jude Hermosa and will be wed next month to the gentleman."
I lifted my head and smiled at everybody who has no idea about the storm inside that has thrown me out of balance.
Gusto kong tumakbo, lumayas pero hindi ko pwedeng ipahiya ang pamilya kaya ngingiti ako ngayon at magpapanggap na masaya.
When Jude kissed me on the cheek, I gave him my sweetest smile. When my friends and family started coming at us for their best wishes, I bear it and accepted their words.
When papa and mama hugged me, I wanted to burst into crying but I held it in and when it's time to run away from the scene, I did it gracefully and went up to the stairs.

Anger consumed me. I felt cheated on by my own family.
I'm angry because I felt like they are disregarding me and my feelings. Ayokong magpakasal. Why would our family be still so insecure about the Alcantarans? Why would they try to ruin my life?
"You'll ruin your beautiful dress, princess."
I gasped when a voice suddenly spoke. Mabilis akong tumayo at binuksan ang ilaw.
There, lying on my bed, cross armed in his formal attire, is the man I'd never knew I'd seen at this hour and at this place.
Nathan casually got up and approached me. Pinahid nito ang mga luha ko gamit ang arm sleeve ng damit nito.
"Why are you here?" I asked and avoided his eyes.
His thumb traveled down to my lips and caressed them.
"I just wanna say thank you for the beer. Masarap."
I laughed dryly.
"Meron kang gustong malaman? Anything about our secret? Come on. Ask me, Nate. I'll answer everything. I'll give you everything."
"You have given me everything, Cahil. You've given me your all so what could you still possibly give me this time?"
I slapped him hard in his face. "My all doesn't reside on a mere hymen that your d**k pierced. I am more than that."
Nathan's face softened. He gently touched my cheek and planted a kiss on my nose and then whispered.
"Of course, you're more than that. Sa ating dalawa ay mas ako ang dapat nakakaalam niyan."
He cupped my butt and squeezed them while his other hand angled my face and claimed my lips.

His silver eyes shared a painful glint.

Hinila niya ako palapit dito at pinahid ang tumulo kong luha. "Marriage is not that bad, Cahil. Try working it out with him."
He kissed my cheek before hopping out of the balustrade and walking towards Luck. Hindi na niya ako nilingon pa nang sumampa ito sa kabayo at pinatakbo ito palayo.
Umihip ang hangin kasabay ang pagtangay nito sa mga luha ko. I held out to the balustrade where his hand has been and cried out in silence. Tinanaw ko ang papalayong pigura ni Nathan at hinawakan ang dibdib.
Bakit mas mabigat ang pakiramdam ko ngayon kaysa kanina?
