Benji didn’t say a single word as we walked home together. Not only was he being silent, he seemed to be a little standoffish. I was hoping it was because of Derek and he was maybe feeling a little confused and conflicted, but that didn’t seem the case at all. When we got to Hazel’s house he didn’t even look at me as he simply mumbles good night, not even bothering with a hug. He just quickly walked faster, like he was trying to get away from me. I may have overdone it. Now that the threat of Derek’s impending doom was somewhat lessened he had time to think of my actions. I think he was finally getting super suspicious of me.
