Dragon Bound

Chapter 27

Ryoka was pinned hard on the ground, the side of her face was being pressed down on floor, and there was a knee on her back keeping her chest to the floor while one of her hands was being pulled to the back awkwardly as well by Lilith and it gad all happened in a flash, in fact in record time as that of a jacket falling to the ground.

The surprise and shock only registered on Ryoka for just that second she hit the floor pinned down by Lilith, the next second she was back on her feet after applying a maneuver that Damien had taught her to use to escape such pin downs and she had as well added a flying kick which hit Lilith square in the chest sending her a few steps back.

Now it was Lilith’s turn to be surprised and shocked as Ryoka broke through her pin down and still landed a kick on her as she got to her feet, the kick had enough power to put her off for a few steps, ‘hmm maybe I have found a match after all’ Lilith thought to herself.

“Well, well, you made it out of my pin down in record time, actually no one has ever broken out of my pin down before, you must have a really good master or trainer” Lilith said to Ryoka in acknowledgment.

“Well now that you know that, are we still gonna fight or we’ll just keep up the chitchat” Ryoka said teasingly, she would try anything to unbalance Lilith because she knew that if she fought her straight on with Lilith mentally balanced then this fight would be over in seconds and she would have lost to Lilith.

Lilith came for her once again moving with her phantom speed, and even though Ryoka was following this time around, it was still hard to keep up with Lilith’s movement and when she got to Ryoka, her first hits landed well on Ryoka and it was only her defense scales who acted on there own that saved her from the barrage of hits to the lower abdomen.

Ryoka quickly countered with moves of her own, sending punches and kicks to Lilith but Lilith was well prepared this time and she avoided them all and was even still able to give a flying kick back to Ryoka and despite the fact that Ryoka had scales protecting her, the hit was still strong enough to propel her a few steps back just as hers had done to Lilith.

“So does that make us even or do I have the upper hand?” Lilith asked and smirked confidently, she was sure of herself and the way the battle would go, Ryoka might be good, she was well trained after all, but she was no match for Lilith who had been in this system since she was younger than Ryoka’s current age.

Ryoka knows without a doubt that Lilith was way out of her league, she needed to do something to turn this battle to favor her and not Lilith, it was the only way she could last against her at the rate it was going, she had no idea how long the scales can keep on coming out on their own to protect her against the hits, but once they start failing then the battle would be over or when Lilith figures out the deal with the scales and finds a way to counter as well.

“Its your turn now, c’mon, come for me, show me what you got” Lilith said you Ryoka and made a come gesture with her hand and fingers, the type of gesture that gets the opponent riled up, sometimes angry

Ryoka figured something out, there was something she could do and use against Lilith that Lilith would have almost no counter against, that is if her guess about Lilith’s generation of Eldrian was correct.

“Ok, so you asked me question right before we started fighting, how about I answer that now uhn?” Ryoka said and moved with speed towards Lilith, she threw a punch that she knew Lilith would block rather than avoid totally, and as Lilith blocked it with her hands joined together, for a very short moment she lost sight of Ryoka and using that opportunity Ryoka spewed fire at Lilith aiming for her legs which had been planted on the ground to be able to block the punch Ryoka had thrown at first.

Lilith jumped high up in surprise and as a way to avoid the fire which had already licked her legs, while she was still in the air though, Ryoka spewed some more fire aimed straight for her this time around, she figured she had to keep up the pressure on Lilith, that way Lilith wouldn’t be able to think so much and she might very well make a mistake.

Somehow, Lilith avoided the fire aimed at her whilst in the air but then as soon as she landed another stream of fire was already coming towards her, and at that point it was unavoidable so she formed a hand seal by clasping her hands together then she released her hands in front of her, making a pushing gesture and as the fires got to about a few inches before touching her hands, it started to die out as if there was a large mouth blowing out the fires.

Ryoka wasn’t just surprised and shocked this time, she was awed as well, so much that she could almost go and meet Lilith to please teach her how she just did that, the fires was totally snuffed out, including the one that had been burning her legs even, all just by forming the intuition hand seal which Ryoka recognized well from her lessons with Damien when he explained the different seals there were to her.

In truth, Ryoka had actually been aiming to make Lilith transform, she was pretty sure that Lilith had to be a bronze-back dragon, but then imagine her surprise when Lilith had indeed formed the hand seal as if she wanted to transform but had instead used it to snuff out the fire Ryoka had spewed at her.

Ryoka always knew the hand seals must have many other uses, not just for transformations as Damien had erroneously claimed, and here right in front of her was more evidence to attest to the fact.

Ryoka carried the shock, surprise and awe off her face and replaced it with a goofy and naughty grin “uhm, so there you go, I’m a special gen, baby, hope you don’t mind that I made the fire come straight for you, you did give me the chance to aim for your life after all” Ryoka said in a naughty child’s voice.

Lilith relaxed the hand seal, “Oh really, well, now that I know, I just have to be more careful I guess” Lilith answered now more serious than she was earlier, dealing with a special generation dragon meant dealing with fire and / or other special abilities that are just out rightly dangerous.

“So are you gonna teach me how to do what you just did right now? I mean you totally spluttered my fire off, and they do say the only thing more powerful than fire is that which can put it out, so what do you say?” Ryoka asked, she needed time, yet Lilith kept getting more serious on her.

“Well, I would have loved to, I would have even offered that we stop this fight and then you come to join me so I could teach you all I know, wouldn’t that be better? But then we both know that new gen seals are useless for other generations don’t we? So stop stalling for time and let’s finish this” Lilith said.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa” Ryoka said and raised her hands up, she just found another angle to use against Lilith, so people really did not know about the seals working for ‘some’ others then, who knows maybe she was even the first to actually discover and use it.

“So you don’t know as well uhn? Well then let me show you” Ryoka said and clasped her hands together to form a seal, the absolute hand seal, she didn’t want the fire to get out of hand but still she wanted Lilith to see her point.

Lilith on the other hand raised an eyebrow, surprised at what Ryoka was trying to do, but the real surprise really came after when she saw Ryoka blow out a fire that shouldn’t have been possible in human form without consequences, as the fire came for her, she realized that there was nothing she could do to stop this kind of fire, well there was one thing.

Out of the immense blaze came out a bronze-back dragon of faded reddish brown scales color, sleek like female dragons usually are, a beautiful creature to say the least, and its spikes made such a pattern on its body that made it well defined and scary as well.

Ryoka opened her mouth in awe as she looked up at the magnificent dragon of Lilith, finally her plan had worked now there was no time to lose seeing as she hadn’t taken to the skies and the fire was only harmlessly licking her scales, so she ran and slid underneath the great creature’s belly and without thinking about what she was about to do she made all five hand seals in quick succession and yelled out as the overbearing power from her core filled her entire body and she shifted as well into her dragon.

A bright red dragon with patches of white grew right underneath the faded reddish brown dragon causing a clash of limbs and scales and wings, but the bright red dragon knew why it transformed right under the faded reddish brown dragon.

Ryoka kicked at Lilith’s legs, breaking all four and with the spikes on her back she stabbed at Lilith’s underbelly, enough to m**m but not kill, it all happened in a quick succession and the fact that Lilith wasn’t expecting it made it easier.

Lilith tried to take to the air as she wailed and shrieked and roared in pain, Ryoka from underneath her assisted her by kicking up and beating her wings as well, all the while her spikes were still stabbed in Lilith’s underbelly.

When they got high up in the air, Adrian’s signal shot off as well and the bright yellow dragon that is Adrian rose to the air as well, Lilith in her pain noticed this and got wide eyed, it was now she realized that Ryoka had played her well and smartly all along.

“At least tell me your name, so if I survive this, I’ll know who to look for, for a rematch” Lilith said to Ryoka using mind speak, she had given up knowing she had lost already since everything had gone how Ryoka had wanted, she suspected that Ryoka was indeed the mastermind behind this hit.

“I am Ryoka, it was fun playing with you and I as well learnt a lot from fighting you” Ryoka said in sincerity, fighting with Lilith had challenged her mentally and she loved it.

“Well, train well Ryoka, we shall do this again someday” Lilith said and then Ryoka dislodged from under her, and she struggled to stay afloat in the air by beating her wings strongly.

Ryoka flew and faced her in the air “I don’t look forward to that, but if it is meant to be then so be it, do try to stay afloat for awhile though, just till the explosions are over, and don’t worry about your men, my partner is chasing them off the whole place as we speak, sayonara Lilith, it really was an honor” Ryoka said and flew to meet Adrian and then complete the mission.

Ryoka and Adrian as planned carried the provisions and weapons that Adrian had packed up, Ryoka now saw the reason why Adrian had taken so long, he had gathered large containers worth of provisions and weapons.

Both dragons, one bright red and the other bright yellow, flew off with huge crates carried with their paws, and as they flew off the explosions started, all five buildings and the whole front that made up the warehouse went up in explosive blasts and poured rubble and fire.

The fire from the explosions lit up the night sky, exposing an entity that hadn’t been noticed all through the events of the night, a dark grey and black dragon, high up in the sky watched the whole thing as it unfolded, after watching the two brightly colored dragons fly off, the dark grey and black dragon descended towards the destruction, towards the faded reddish brown dragon who was still struggling to stay afloat.
