Chapter 54

Hugs were going round in the couple’s clinic, Dai hadn’t been under the influence of the enemy as they had feared, she is in her right state of mind, Adrian was the first to start the hug fest, he hugged his mother to himself and cried, then the others came for Dai as well, apologies also were dished out to the couples by the group, they had thought they belonged to an evil organization, turns out they weren’t.

The remaining ten people that made up the back up team arrived as well, called in by Ryoka through draugh fuh after confirming that all was fine and there weren’t any enemies here, bringing Hugh, Han Seok, Javier, Jamie and Christine to see their adopted mother as well, tears were shed and laughs were laughed.

After, they all settled down and Sarah offered to cook, but she was told not to bother and instead, a lady and a guy out of the remaining five people in the back up team were sent out on the hunting and cooking expenditure, Sarah and Charlie suddenly found themselves in the midst of many dragons, a family unit at that, as they shared their story.

Ryoka went first as she apologized dearly and deeply to Dai with tears, on how she had attacked her, Dai had responded by hugging her and informing her that she knew Ryoka hadn’t meant to but was influenced by Damien, when the couple saw that Ryoka was the niece that Dai had told them about, the one responsible for her injuries, they started to look at Ryoka in a new light, before them stood a super dangerous fifteen years old girl (that was the age they felt she was from her looks)

Dai got really particular about how they had all meet and it was Adrian’s turn to chip in the story telling as he and Ryoka started to explain how they had met when Ryoka rescued him, and how they staged a mission and how they got back to the remaining siblings where they found out that she had been missing and how that had been part of the spark that lit up a revolution, they informed her of how they had busted a few of the WIC’s prison facilities and freed a lot of people to add to the cause of the revolution.

Dai could only open her mouth occasionally as the whole tale surprised her, she was even more surprised when she heard that at the time they hadn’t even known they were related, all they did was instinctively trust each other, and just by that they succeeded in their aims and goals, Dai was sure the WIC would quake in their boots upon hearing the name of Ryoka by now, she had turned out to be a formidable force against them after all, after all they tried to get her in on their side, Dai could almost laugh at the thought of how frustrated they must be, that all of a sudden, a revolution had arose against them and not just any revolution led by just anyone, but a revolution led by their most valuable and valued person in the whole Eldrian race.

Dante then gave his own piece on how he had been wallowing in defeat all the while he was caught and bound up in the WIC prison, that was till Artemis came and informed him of the progress of the revolution and who was leading it, well without meaning to because she had thought he would know about it, and from there he got his resolve and broke out, and also made sure he burnt down the building as was Ryoka’s MO. At the mention of Artemis name though, a bit of a dark cloud passed over Dai’s face and even Letty furrowed her brows, they were the only ones who recognized that name.

Then the point of the most recent activity of the revolution came up and Dai who had thought she couldn’t be surprised anymore got a shock the shock of a lifetime when she heard that they had successfully rescued the dragon queen herself, Dante burst out laughing at her expression on hearing the story, he had actually thought no one could beat his own expression of when he heard that they had rescued the dragon queen, in their own time, they could have never thought to do such a thing, this was one of the main reasons why he couldn’t take the reins of the revolution from Ryoka anymore, she was in a league way above them above them and their time, no one else could lead the revolution now because no one could achieve what she did.

Sarah and Charlie who had been listening closely marveled at everything they heard, and upon hearing that Ryoka was as well the leader of a whole revolution of dragons, the new light they saw her in shone a whole lot brighter, now they started to doubt she was actually fifteen, Dai had told them the logics to the aging of dragons so they were sure there had to be an explanation to her doing such great things while being so young in appearance.

“Well thank you for such praises” Ryoka said to Dai when she commented on how Ryoka achieved such a feat of breaking out the dragon queen, “But it might have all been for nothing, I think we were too late, the queen has developed brain damage already and her mind isn’t all there anymore, no matter how hard the physicians we have are trying they aren’t really making any progress other than getting her body back into shape, as for her mind, well, it’s all mush from all the torture she had undergone” Ryoka stated with a disappointed tone.

Sarah and Charlie glanced at each other first then at Dai, a knowing look of understanding passed amongst all three, “Well it’s about ready” Charlie said and a look of confusion passed amongst the visitors.

“What’s about ready?” Dante asked, in all honesty, he had no idea how or why these humans could be so calm and cool with the idea of dragons in their midst, usually, humans freak out at the discovery, but then he had heard that they even found his sister Dai while still transformed as a dragon, that alone would have made another human lose their minds, while some others would turn to the wrong channel for help, like informing the police or the government, their decision to take in Dai and treat her by themselves was the only reason why the WIC hadn’t been aware and weren’t involved by now, he really commended them for that.

“Well you see, the reason why I haven’t come back is not because I didn’t want to” Dai started to explain, “It was because I couldn’t, I can’t shift into my dragon or use its abilities, I can’t undergo any form of journey, and my body is physically all healed, so Charlie and Sarah determined it had to be mental, and so they have been helping me out, Charlie has a technology he built by himself which heals neuro defects that would otherwise be impossible to heal, thanks to the first trial, I regained my dragon speed and strength already” Dai said.

“Oh, that must be what we saw” Adrian said to Ryoka and she nodded in agreement, they had actually thought she was being hurt or experimented upon in a bad way, turns out it was all for good after all.

“That was the machine you were working on were we found you isn’t it?” Dante asked Charlie to which he nodded in answer, they had found him working on the tech and had brought him from there, he offered no resistance so they had no reason to get rough with him or anything.

“The MAGE as I call it was originally developed to help humans achieve a stage of neuro treatment that was inconceivable, it has worked once for a human, the love of life right here” Charlie said and gestured at Sarah who blushed as he said it, “It wasn’t meant for an Eldrian because your race have a bit more complex gene than that of humans, and so I had to go back to give it a bit more tweaking so that it can work for even someone of the elder race, and now, it is about ready to work for a dragon” Charlie finished.

“So you’re telling us that you might have the technology that can even heal our queen?” Ryoka asked with every semblance of hope pouring into her through all her pores.

“It’s definitely worth a try” Charlie answered confidently, “ I only need a bit more time and some resources to finish up” he said to them.

“Very well then, we shall take you both along with your technology as well, if you’re to be the solution to our queen’s predicament, then we’d gladly have you join in the revolution, you wouldn’t be the first or only humans we have after all” Dante said.

“So what are we waiting for? Let’s go” Ryoka said with glee, and at that point, the two people they had sent to go hunt for what they would all eat came in, they had killed a few boars and deer.

“We’re back, what did we miss?” the lady asked.
