Malrik looked pleased with himself. Veyra stood behind him again, her dress the color of blood, her eyes bright with the satisfaction of someone who thought she had already won. Eryndor was at the far end of the room, apparently absorbed in polishing his crystal. To anyone else, he looked bored. I knew better. “Luna,” Malrik began, smiling too broadly, “you seem more confident these days.
