After making it clear she had no clue Lewis had feelings for her before this, Ainsley relayed the gist of their conversation. Like Remi had advised, she also mentioned how Lewis had more or less thrown the gauntlet at Seb.
The other guy’s message was clear: If you mess this up, I’ll swoop right in and won’t waste my chance again.
When Ainsley was done, Seb stayed quiet for a moment. Much to her dismay, he took his arm from around her so he could lean forward broodingly.
“He’s right, you know,” he said in a low, quiet voice. “I should have spoken to them about what’s going on with me. It’s ‘cause I didn’t tell them how my views and circumstances have changed that I look like a hypocrite now.” He snorted humorlessly. “I feel like one too.”
