Freya’s POV I didn’t travel to the in-between to see Ezren’s wolf last night. I tried, but I was too exhausted by worry. What my wolf said about the in-between drifted through me like whispers I couldn’t catch. The in-between was where secrets of the soul were revealed. I had to be ready to face them if they were to arise within the in-between. The sunrise painted the morning sky in cotton candy colors, and I wondered how I made it into my bed. Was I so tired last night that the nurses muscled me into bed, unaware, or had they asked one of the guards outside my room to help? Regardless, I was grateful.
