** Paige’s POV **
I wake up with that prickling feeling that I’m being watched. It doesn’t feel creepy or scary though, it feels comforting somehow. Like I’m being watched over by one of my mates. I try to guess which one before I open my eyes. I’m still new to this whole mate-bond thing, but I’m determined to work it all out.
I immediately rule out Remy. The hum of energy I feel is too calm. It’s not got Ryder’s fiery passion either. The obvious answer would be Parker. He was here when I fell asleep, but that doesn’t feel right either. I don’t have the complete sense of peace he brings me. This feels more like Callen, mostly calm but with an undercurrent of something wilder that can flip in an instant.
I stretch on the couch, surprised at how well I’d slept on it.
