Shauna’s hands shook as she swept up some of the broken glass. Her stomach twisted in knots, as she looked around the dead bodies that littered the pub floor. The adrenaline from the war was leaving her body, mixed with the realisation that she could have killed Zander, and had taken two lives that day. Mentally, she was falling apart. She closed her eyes to the horrific scene that was before her, taking a steady breath to calm her fractured nerves, and forced herself to concentrate on the task at hand.
