Chapter 67

1600 Words

(Sanya's POV) Over the next few days, Aaron and I huddle together in Tyron's hospital room like conspirators planning a heist, which I suppose isn't far from the truth, except what we're stealing is my freedom, and the only thing we're robbing is the life Tyron tried to cage me in. Aaron sits in Tyron's body, but every gesture, every expression, every soft word belongs to the man I loved, the man I lost, the man who somehow found a way back to me even from beyond death itself, and I can't help but think how cruel the Creator is to give us this borrowed time in a borrowed body, knowing it'll all be ripped away soon enough. "We need to get you away from the Blood Moon Pack," Aaron says, his voice—Tyron's voice, but Aaron's tone—firm and certain in a way that makes me want to believe him.
